Tips and tricks against blisters on the feet

In summer, our feet prefer to wear sandals, ballerinas, pumps or bathing slippers. Of course, we want to wear the summer shoes barefoot. After all, it's warm. But with the summer shoe habit come pretty quickly the unpleasant companions: chafed skin, unpleasant odors and blisters on the feet. Ouch! But you don't have to take that on yourself and you certainly don't have to do without summer shoes. Pain-free feet can be so easy!

Prevent: Widen tight shoes

Especially, the equally loved and shunned, ballerinas prepare the ladies quickly times one or the other blister. You can prevent this very easily! To have your shoes widened, you can take them to the cobbler. If you want to save time and money, you can find alternatives:

Blow dry:

A popular method to widen tight shoes yourself is the following:

You put on your thick winter socks and slip into your shoes for a few minutes. Then blow dry your shoes with hot air. Now put the shoes on again, including wool socks, until the shoe cools down. If the shoe is still too tight, just repeat until you get the desired result.

Raw potato:

You can use raw potatoes to widen your shoes and also remove the bad odors from your shoe. To do this, simply take a large potato, peel it and place it in your shoe overnight. The next morning, remove the potato and clean the shoe with a damp cloth.

Alcohol and water:

To make the shoe fit your foot, you can prepare a stretch spray. You simply fill a spray bottle halfway with alcohol. The other half you fill up with water. Now spray the inside of your shoes and start to break them in until the shoe is dry.

Avoid blisters on the road

You've put on your new summer shoes for your date and suddenly the shoe is rubbing your skin. The next blister is on its way. You can still avoid the blister with an alcohol-free roll-on deodorant. Simply roll the deodorant over the insides of your shoes and your feet will stay blister-free! Alternatively, you can get yourself a foot care stick. No larger than the familiar lip balms, it's the perfect size for traveling and your feet won't be exposed to friction.

Treat blistered feet

If you could not avoid the blisters on your feet after all, it is not recommended to remove the overlying skin. Let the skin, protect your wound as long as possible. Pull off the skin on the blister, so you do not accelerate the healing. On the contrary, the wound is now open and this can lead to inflammation. If the blister is already painful and you need to treat it immediately, you can pierce it with a sterile needle to relieve the pressure.

Accelerate blister healing

To speed up blister healing, you can get special blister patches. The hydrocolloid will promote healing and protect the sore area from further pressure. Do not hesitate for a long time before applying a patch. The sooner you put the patch on, the smaller the blister will remain. By the way, the patch does not need to be changed every day. Let the blister heal in peace and only then remove the patch.
